Beth, Cole, Levi & I walked into Drillers stadium - the smell of hamburgers on the grill, a little band playing, vendors selling programs, peanuts & caps, and lines of people filing in... It was great.
We met our good friends, Dale, Michelle, Madalyn, and Meagan & took our seats, and had fun hanging out with them.
But 5 innings later, the boys were tired, Beth was bored & I had a really bad headache - maybe from standing in line at the concession stand to get some hot - no, make that kinda' warm - chocolate. We thought our seats were good, but we ended up in a spot where every time people went out an exit, they blocked our view of the plate for a moment. So that made things a little worse. But all in all it was a fun time.
I did think that I got to experience two of the ultimate father-son experiences today.
This morning on the way to school, I took Cole to a donut shop that we go to on Fridays. I remember when my Dad took me & my brother.
Then watching baseball tonight. Both of these events provide a transcendent-type of moment for me as a Dad. I'm not sure how to explain it beyond that. So there it is.
