1. Seeing Cole in his uniform. He got the number 33, which is the same number I had when playing basketball.
2. At one point our center fielder through it to the infield. No one was watching & the ball went by second base. The baserunner saw it, jumped off the base, got the ball & tossed it to our second baseman.
3. Our first base coach told one of our boys, "As soon as he hits it, you run." The ball was hit and the boy did run - towards the dugout. The coach got him turned around and on the way to 2nd base. We practiced lots of base running the next day.
4. Cole & his buddy from church, Dawson, each had some good hits and several times they were on base at the same time. I had a little "fast forward" and was trying to picture them doing the same thing 10 years down the rode.
5. I coached 3rd base & wished I had a camera. There is a really nice boy named Nate who hit a triple. On his way from 2nd to 3rd he had the biggest smile I'd ever seen. It was great; priceless.
