With brick symbolizing a strong foundation and savvy meaning understanding and know-how, it wasn't long before the name Brick-$aavy was forged with a touch of creative spelling to define what Timothy Lockhart and his rap career is all about, which is knowledge and know how being a strong foundation.

Originally hailing from Trenton, NJ, an 8 year old Brick-$aavy and his older sister moved to Virginia Beach, VA summer of 1991 with their mother after finally being found from, what the police called, a kidnapping situation involving their own father (Which has been the catalyst for the strong bond he has with his parents today). The experience of living from motel to motel and eating things like peanut butter mixed with cornflakes sometimes to curb their hunger, has taught him how to survive within undesirable conditions. This ability to adapt to the different changes and circumstances in his life, has evolved over the years and sculpted $aavy's being, which in turn, left Brick-$aavy with an array of different physical and emotional experiences he summons to create his musical masterpieces.
