About

budhaditya is an audio media practitioner with wandering ears; his work incorporates field recording, sound design and digital media.

having background in electrical engineering, he studied cinema and sound recording in film-school, later he moved into practice based research in digital media and sonic arts. in film-school he developed his ear for environmental sound, field recording and soundscapes primarily as a reaction to the visual domination in cinema and within media art at large; thus his quest for an audio-vision initiates; and so far culminates into his body of work that involves found sound collected at deep and cognitive listening to the environment followed by digital manipulation and audio engineering.

his work with sound is based in locative audio media, sound/media archiving and sonic interaction design while assembling diverse forms such as audio essays, sound narratives and inter-media installations within the inclusive framework of new media art; addresses issues like sound and environment, sound memory, acoustic ecology and lost/endangered sounds. in a specific context of mediation his sound practice is intended to reflect on defined space/place/area as sonic constructs.
