I tried to summit my first fourteener, Mt. Princeton, last weekend. Needless to say it was an amazing experience even if we did not summit. The views and spectacle of the moutain were fabulous enough for me. However, it would have been sweeter to make it to the top. A late start attributed to our failed attempt at glory. We were blown off the mountain by a nasty thunderhead rolling in at 13,100'. We scampered through the talus field rather quickly to avoid rain and lightning. I should of woke everyone up at 5 am. I thought making a fire and boiling 4 pots of water would be enough to arouse my friends, but it was a failed effort. Hopefully, We will make it down to Beuna Vista, CO again to make our triumphant surge to the top.
