About

While illustrating simple themes of hopes and fears, Cabin manages to elevate the everyday and sweeten the bitter moments into cinematic worth. Cabin's, melodically driven rock, explores the depth of sound while never ignoring the gravity of lyrics and melody. Never a servant to fashion or time, Cabin's music will prove to hold up against the past, present and future of Rock' n' Roll. In August of 2004, Cabin emerged without history onto the Louisville music scene, earning the praise, 'Band out of nowhere'.

Among the legions of fans CABIN has gained since their 2005 debut Govern the Good Life the band can count Sufjan Stevens who personally recommended them on his MySpace account as "a band you need to check out". Now the band, recently signed to Machine Records, is ready to hit the road and take their craft to a national audience with this long awaited follow up release, the I Was Here ep, which features five brand new songs including the epic first single 'I Was Here'.

After honing the finer elements of their live performance (opening for several national bands including The Von Bondies, VHS or Beta and others), and while drawing comparisons to My Morning Jacket, Coldplay and U2 from radio, press and other taste makers, CABIN has continued to write and record "... songs that are epics of atmosphere and melody, where the lingering spaces between notes are just as important as the tender, evocative music.' (Courier Journal). This four piece, melodically driven rock band, explores the depth of sound while never ignoring the gravity of lyrics and melody. Never a servant to fashion or time, CABINS's music will prove to hold up against the past, present and future of Rock' n' Roll.

** CABIN PRESS**

A live show by Cabin is everything that is expected from a band that shuns the rough edges of rock and roll and embraces sonic dream engineering. Every note echoes the emotion of their well thought out lyrics. In a style reminiscent of Kurt Cobain's early nervous shy guy stage performance, Noah speaks very little between tracks and does little more than introduce the song. The music is in no need of a loud mouthed introduction, because it speaks for itself. Cabin's performance at the Gateway Music Festival was nothing short of awe inspiring..... taykuy.blogspot.com

Like neighbors My Morning Jacket, here's another outfit that could be called "Kentucky's Radiohead." Cabin is that good.- Interference.com

"... an unfailingly pleasant album of heartfelt pop music. Carried along by strings, keys and guitars, its songs float by with an effortless grace, defying you not to yield to their simple beauty." - INtake Weekly

"The Louisville, KY band Cabin are warm and anthemic. The four piece is fronted by Noah Hewitt-Ball whose angelic vocals can soar and convey a broad range of emotions and is complimented by Billy Lease on bass and guitar, David Chale on drums and Sarah Weider on violin, cello and keyboards. Their new EP - I Was Here - on Machine Records will quickly burrow its way into your heart."

'"Cabin is a band making brilliant music without trying too hard. It's one of those rare occasions where you can tell the band is just going by its natural feel and the chemistry between members flows perfectly. I hope these guys know they are good and continue to make records, because if they feel this passionately about the work they have done, these guys have something no one can even attempt to take away." - Louisville Music News

"Cabin does deliver a clean, melodic rock sound." - Velocity Weekly

"Elegant melodies soar, dip and swoop throughout, surrounded by jangly guitars, atmospheric hum and the occasional violin." - INtake Weekly

"Louisville's Cabin is sounding to these ears like the memories of a sweet summer girlfriend from long ago. There's equal amounts of heady sounds, riffage and emotion in Cabin's songs." - Waved Rumor

"As good as this Louisville, KY quartet is on record, onstage they somehow manage to raise the bar on their atmospheric melodies and indelible pop hooks with both a hypnotic stage presence and jaw-dropping dynamics." - ConcertLivewire
