The Destructive Cactus is the name Ryan gives to what most people would call a 'solo project'. These songs are just rough sketches and ideas; not songs at all, really. Sometimes he finishes them with other people in other projects; sometimes he scraps them -- sometimes he uses them as lullabies to soothe a frantic-minded loved one, of which there are many.

Frantic minds, that is.
