I just got back (literally) from doing some recording at the studio here in town. I'm going to be going to the Christian Artist Conference this year in Estes Park, CO. I entered into the song writing competition, and needed to lay a couple of tracks down so that I could send them off in advance. I hope you guys enjoy them both.
The first song is Honor and Glory. I wrote this one night from a prayer that I was crying to God. As Christians, we should want to honor and glorify God in all that we do. Not because of what can gain from doing it, but simply because God is God and He is worthy of everything that we can bring. I love that last line that says, " I wll lift my voice in perfect praise to bring honor and glory to You". When we lift our voice in perfect praise, it has nothing to do with whether or not we can carry a tune. It's perfect because it's the kind of worhsip that God desires from us.
The second song is called Worthy. This is about the fact that we are justified before God. Col. 1:12 says, "...giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritence of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins". We have been qualified by God Almighty! We are worthy to now be in the presence of God Himself because of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross!
I hope you enjoy these two cuts. Hopefully there will be more to come!
