Back in Oklahoma when Cally Nunes was five years old, she heard her first country song on the radio, instantly she just knew there was nothing in the world she’d rather do than create music and entertain. Cally Nunes officially started her singing/songwriting career at the tender age of 14, back in 2004. Now 19, she has been spouting out songs ever since. She recorded her album titled, “Sadly Wrong” at Buck Studios, in Hendersonville, TN. Some Song’s on her album debut deeply express her feelings about life’s experiences and subtle nuances, and of course like most teenagers, “relationships with boys”. When asked about her music, Cally explains; “Every time I bring someone to tears with a song or bring two strangers together with a relatable memory I’m doing my job.” “I am motivated and determined to work with amazingly talented artists who also share the overwhelming need to connect with an audience.”
When asked about her influences, Cally says; “There are a lot of fantastic and diverse singer/songwriters that have influenced me. Miranda Lambert has that in your face thing that I can totally relate with. Her music has made me less of an editor to myself and more of a "just say it like it is" kind of girl. Garth Brooks taught me what it meant to entertain and love it because it's always there in his eyes. Taylor Swift showed me anything was possible if you work hard enough. Fiona apple blessed me with the curiosity to open up in different ways and Keith Urban, Sarah Buxton, and Sheryl Crow had me roll down my windows turn up the radio and let life in. So many others have helped me too, and one day I'll get to thank them for all the inspiration they given me...”
Cally’s Personal Mantra is "No backup plan", which is what she’ll tell you if you ask her, "what will you do instead if your music doesn't work out?" she will smile and say; “ I have no backup plan…” Cally Nunes has a deep belief that one should continue to pursue their dreams and do what they love, no matter what. Her personal mission and hope is that everyone could find their own meaning in her music, and most of all just find a way to be comforted in their troubles, and know it’s okay to cry when it hurts, laugh when its good, and just connect to a song with a personal memory or dream from their own life, also, to have the courage to deal with emotions even though it’s scary sometimes.
No matter where Cally’s career takes her over the next several years, she is sure to give it all she’s got, whether, singing, performing, or songwriting. She is intent on reaching as many people as she can through her lyrics and music. She loves country but lovingly calls her genre of music California Country Pop, because she resides in California, and her music is sometimes strictly Country sounding and sometimes more Popish sounding. Cally Nunes is driven to succeed as an Artist, and intends to be a good role model for teens and young adults both inside and outside of the music industry.
