buildings & life

its funny sometimes. I seem to notice more things around me, now that I shoot all of the time. Like buildings, and architecture. It is a statement, sometimes, of the artist, the architect trying to express himself/herself on a much larger scale. Aren't all artists trying to get all of this stuff out?
Take for Instance, Bertrand Goldberg's building in Chicago...

I came across the photograph. The path that led me to it?
I was talking to an old friend that is now working in Colorado Springs, CO. I go to flickr.com, and search for photos of the city.. just curious. I know from a long time ago, reaching far back in my memories, I knew that there is some sort of Airforce school there, I think, which leads me to finding a photograph of THIS building:

Photo originally in color by this flickr photographer:
http://www.flickr.com/people/bootbearwdc/

The architect of this above building, apparently had a portrait out there:

His name is Walter Netsch Jr. Scary looking fellow. but, none the less, I wonder what was going on in his brain when he designed it? Creativity was really flowing, and its amazing that the US government actually gave him the freedom to design something, "NON-MILITARY" looking. Ever seen a building on a military base? Let go back, and see. I wonder who was base commander then?
1959-63.. hmmm.
Apparently, this guy:

General James E. Briggs. I wonder what kind of man this General was. I wonder if he leaned toward the creative side? How did Netsch know about the need of a cadet chapel? All of these questions..while searching for the Netsch guy, I find the photograph of the Goldberg building in Chicago. That is the path that led me to this blog. It ran around in my brain. Various things I wondered about these people. Could I really know who they were by looking at their work? Can anyone see the same in my work, I wonder? What does my work say about me? any volunteers?
