some stuff that blew me up.

1 Timothy 1:5 (ESV)

-- The aim of our charge is LOVE that issues from a PURE heart, and a GOOD conscience, and a SINCERE faith.

* I know Paul was trying to warn Timothy against false teachings in the church and how important it is to not swerve away from TRUTH and the message in which they are trying to get across to the people. It is not so complicated.. my NLT version says
" some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussion." (1tim1:6)
Seriously- LOVE is where it's at. And to remember it comes from the purity of hearts, a clear and stable conscience and a genuine faith... is definitely something to ask Jesus to instill in us everyday.

1 Timothy 6:6-8 (NLT)

--Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brough nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can't take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

*Not even something we want to hear about because we are always wanting this and that and coming from a girl who loves the latest trends and always wants to have the coolest stuff... it's tough to accept this as something I need to work on. But seriously, the first verse got me. TRUE GODLINESS with CONTENTMENT is where the real WEALTH is. No joke, I find myself not being content in what I already have, if I would just stop wanting more and more.. I could appreciate the value of what the Lord has already blessed me with, and I am not just talking about material posessions.. it applies to a lot more.. like friends, family, shelter, a job (as of recently).. all the stuff that was take for granted EVERYDAY!!

2 Timothy 1:7-8 (NLT)

--For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self- discipline. So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.

*How awesome is that. Jesus lives in us so that we can tell others of him, BE HIM to others... in that, there should be no fear or timidity... because in scripture it says blatantly that his power and love are INSIDE of us as the Holy Spirit. If that isn't encouraging, I am not sure what is. Take it for what it's worth, but I know that gives me a smile of confidence everytime I read it.

2 Timothy 2:22

---So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

SO GOOD. As youthful in our flesh, we are going to want to pursue other things before what God instructs us. It is of our nature. But this verse is so good to remember... we should pray that we rid of those "passions" and let God fill us with HIS passions of FAITH, LOVE AND PEACE.. and we always want to just love others in our purest of hearts for their purest of hearts.

LOVE IT. If yall read up on anything cool and want to share! Totally comment.. I really want you guys to be able to share stuff on here with me.. that is why I did this!

Finding Peace in Proverbs...

Proverbs 1

7- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. **we must take heart of who the Lord is and take a healthy fear in that before we ever think highly of ourselves.. if we ever think that his way isn't the way to go... we are fools! Do not be a fool- ""for the complacency of a fool destroys them!"" (Proverbs 1:32)

......So how do I understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God? AH HA!! .. your answer follows closely!....

Proverbs 2

1 "My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God....

Proverbs 3

5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths.

7: be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil;
8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.

11: My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline or be weary of his reproof. For the Lord reproves him whom he LOVES, as a father the son in whom he delights! ***Jesus disciplines us because he LOVES US!

21-26: My son, do not lose sight of these... {{ wise instructions }}.. Then you will walk on your way securely { the Lord wants to offer us security in him!}, and your foot will not stumble. If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the ruin of the wicked when it comes, for the Lord will be your confidence!.. and will keep your foot from being caught. **Jesus wants to bless our time of rest at night, he is always with us in that too! "...Therefore, sleep in peace, for God is awake" --- Victor Hugo.

28-35 are good and simply stated basic instructions.. God is saying.. do not do these things.. for the WISE in this will inherit honor but FOOLS will be disgraced!

Proverbs 4

Basically, this chapter is instructions from a father to son. I found verse 14 good to share because it states the role of the wicked!

14...19 Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of the evil. Avoid it; do not go in it; turn away from it and pass on. {{with this I picture myself walking away from sin and temptation and the further I walk, the further away I get from that sin and/or temptation to commit that sin}} For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble.... But the path off the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day. :):)

20-22: My son, be attentive to my wordsl incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are the LIFE to those who FIND them, and HEALING to all their flesh!! **His words Heal us!!!!!!**
