I made a surprising discovery that I'd like to share with y'all: Not drinking alcohol=waking up in the morning!!!!! I discovered this my first week of classes this term by NOT DRINKING, and instead of it being impossible to get out of bed at 7:30 am, I actually got up and stayed up! I still hated it as much as I normally do, but after a little while, I forget that I just woke up and get on with my day. This might seem obvious to some of you, but it really is a breakthrough for me.

Kelsey is throwing stones at my window and shouting my name and I'm ignoring her. It feels good.

I made a fort in my room. It's my new favorite place. Kelly's and my beds are pushed together and there's about three feet of space under them, so I blanketed the walls and put Kelly's tacky dolphin touch lamp in there for studying. There's something so comforting about being under a bed in a corner surrounded by warm light and pillows. I feel like I'm hiding. I can see myself spending too much time in the fort, though, trying to escape life. I'll have to be careful of that.

Ok, I'm not quitting, but that doesn't mean that I like it here. I know I called a bunch of you while I was freaking out and then didn't call back, but I will soon. It doesn't seem as urgent now. Actually, I found out I was PMSing and April happened to ask me at just the wrong time if she could come and get me. It's so crazy how I continually forget about the dangers of PMS. PMS...The Dream Killer. And you can all read what my stepmom said on Xanga at xanga.com/mollyschief. You will feel a sudden wave of motivation and/or guilt. She's a powerful woman...not at all like myself these days.

I won some $$ at the karaoke competition last night. It was pretty exciting. BEER MONEY not.

I LOVE my environmental science class. I want to take chemistry SO BAD. It's been fascinating to me lately..along with geology, natural disasters, astronomy, and anything else that involves figuring out how things work. I think it's a response to going to art school. Fuck creativity....give me SCIENCE.
