Android Emulator Crashes On Mac OS X

I decided to install the Google Android SDK this evening as part of my personal 20% coding time. Upon building my traditional HelloWorld app I launched the simulator and was met immediately with a crash.

Thread 3 Crashed:
0 emulator 0x00036c20 audioInDeviceIOProc + 80 (coreaudio.c:691)

This crash is apparently caused by having a microphone input established that is not your Mac's internal microphone. In my case, my MacBook Pro is plugged into one of those new 24" LED Cinema Displays.

You can workaround the issue by temporarily switching your Sound Input to the internal microphone and launching emulator. After it's successfully up, you can switch back to your USB or other external mic solution. There's currently a bug filed on the Android project about the issue (#887) but other than more people chiming into bitch there hasn't been much movement on patching the issue just yet.

"Wait, so the Joker really orchestrated that big truck chase just so that he could get caught and go to prison, then he could kidnap that guard and grab his phone to make the call to set off the bomb he'd previously sewn inside the henchman in the next cell? That would kill the guy who stole the mobsters' money, thus enabling him to ... er, what? I've also following many of the same folks via delicious to pick up new content to read online.
