Well, I'm most of the way through February, and most of the way through recording my album. I've managed to scrap any idea of having some sort of theme. It's just whatever comes to me now. I feel a bit like I'm running a marathon, alternately getting burned out and getting second winds with the whole thing. I've recorded all of the music and some of the vocals. I have to finish this thing this week.

The reason I have to finish this week is that my wife and kids are out of town, and it's a really golden opportunity to work on this stuff (as much as I miss them). So I'm making the most of the time - time I probably won't have when they return.

I'm surprised by how good the songs generally sound considering the speed at which I'm making them. Granted, they are not what I'd record if I had more time, but I'm happy enough with them for this project. Several of them have existed in my head for a long time, as long as about 10 years or so, without ever having been recorded, so it's nice to get them out.

On another note, I've been wondering why I bother blogging. I have one reader that I know of, and I e-mail him all the time anyway. I suppose if I'm ever super-mega-famous, as I expect to be any day now, this blog will be good for background material or something. I don't know. Maybe I just like making believe I have fans of some kind.

Anyway, it's bedtime. I have work tomorrow.
