I'm Carsten. I was born in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, WA in 1989. My parents bestowed upon me the name "Carsten" in honor of my great-grandfather Carsten Strandoo, a Norwegian immigrant. I grew up there and on Queen Anne Hill (also in Seattle) and attended Little Friends Preschool and later Seattle Country Day School until I completed grade three.
At that time, a great change came unto my life. My parents gently transplanted my brother, sister, and I, pulling up our tender roots from the soil of our beloved Seattle and put us back into the earth in our new home of Anacortes. The sea breeze, plentiful forests, and abundant wildlife, along with some help from the public education system, nurtured me and helped me grow until I became a legal adult and high school graduate in June of 2007. At this time, the public education system ceased to be a part of my upbringing.
After high school, I wandered aimlessly, mourning the loss of this great resource to my intellectual growth. To fill the large but bizarrely shaped hole that its absence left in my heart, I took up a career in the painting business. I still hold this job after approximately two and a half weeks of employment. It is risky work: so far I have been bitten by bees, forced to work on narrow ledges 40 feet from the good sweet earth, and treated with an attitude of general unfriendliness by a certain Ron Blazingham. In the time I spend away from the high rooftops and sticky paintbrushes that represent my toils, I do my best to constitute one fourth of the band Well Done Dragon (with Mike Ferrario, Stephen Steen, and Bri Hobbs) and operate a decisively nonproductive clothing brand known as c60.
In the fall, I am headed to Poughkeepsie, NY to attend Vassar College. Don't ask me what my goals are or "what I want to do" because if you do, my reply will be "learn shit".
Before I die, I want to read a lot of books, raise children, own a house, and travel the world on horseback/bicycleback.

Rob Roy, Aug 29, 2007:
My life has been nuts lately! Life in the city is craze-yo gritty here, its the black tar heroin capital of the coast so there's all of these junkie punk kids that run the streets at night. its kind of scary sometimes, but mostly its just pathetic. I went to the artistery the other day and saw white fang. They ruled my face off.
Brita+Kirsten, Aug 29, 2007:
