It's Been Awhile.

It's been a while since I posted anything to all of you out there, but things have been pretty crazy. I am getting moved to another company when I come back from leave. Yes, another one. Now some people might be expecting a great story of how I uncovered wrong doing, exposed it, and now I'm getting moved. But that isn't the case. Yes, I have seen another side of life here, the Fobbit life, but I have not taken any direct action so far. That is not to say that I am not going to, but I have to be careful where I step. I can not currently spill my guts on everything that I am planning on, but I will say that the fight is still on and I am always looking for ways to make a bigger "splash". I personally feel the reason that I am getting the boot is so that I can go be someone else's problem. Delta Company moved under the excuse that I was in danger. No one has threatened me or has tried anything at all. The worst thing really to happen is a series of dirty looks and a comment left on under my YouTube film A.O.

But as you can see it is childish and stupid. But everyone is aware of what I do and that I have substantial back-up. IVAW, Lawyer, etc etc. So yeah, I am getting booted, most likely, to go be someone else's problem.

The release date for the next film will be November 19th. So when you are at work and looking for ways to goof off you'll have a great reason too. I have to say that working on this film was challenging. How do you follow up Deconstructed? I think that Deconstructed is my best film so far, so when I decided to take on a new project, one that takes place inside the wire, I was worried that it would not have as much of an impact as my other films. Also, I had a very limited time to film everything I needed. We took a flight to Camp Taji, one of the largest FOBs in Iraq, to pick up new vehicles. We had a three day layover so I dragged my poor producer, John Lopez, around with me as soon as we got there, and everyday after that, getting all the footage I could for a film about all the tricks that exist to get Soldiers to waste their money. Although it was my first time being there the unit I am with now was stationed there on their last deployment. So I had an idea of what would be there in terms of money traps. When I showed the completed film to Josh Miller he said that the number of stores has grown since the last time he was there. I showed it to a couple of more people who have been at Camp Taji and they commented on the number of new stores that are shown in the film. After many edits and feedback from a close group of Soldiers, I knew that this film would be great. Now when I watch the final product those fears of trying to top Deconstructed are put to rest. I am very proud of our new film, and first sequel, The Deployment Game: Livin' FOBulous.

Now what do I mean by "FOBulous"? All these camps here are referred to as Forward Operating Bases, or FOB's. There is a term for someone who never leaves the wire, that means to go outside the FOB, called a Fobbit. It's a spoof on fictonal race of people from The Lord of The Rings film named Hobbits. So if you live on the FOB all the time you are living FOBulous. A couple of years ago someone made a pretty good hip-hop song while they where deployed called The Fobbit Song. I thought I'd share it with all of you here. Oh, be careful at work. Has a lot of "dirty" words in it.

The Deployment Game: Livin' FOBulous coming out November 19th!
