The elevation worship team is a team of about 40 diverse high schoolers all dedicated to one central goal: to strongly and effectively lead elevation in praising and worship God each week. The students love to do it because it gives them a chance to use their God-given talents to worship God. For me as their leader, it’s been great to see the variety of gifts and talents that the students have and the commitment they have to leading their youth group! I love to see their commitment to loving the Lord and serving Him through worship. This year, we went on a retreat to help the team get to know each other, talk about worship, and just have fun worshiping together. It was a really meaningful time. We prayed for one another and really encouraged unity as a team. The elevation worship team is a fun and dedicated team of very talented students who really have a desire to honor God with their time and talents!

This year, we went to Pine Trail Camp as a worship team. It was so fun doing the team building games and talking to people we don’t normally talk to. It felt like a big family get-together. We played capture the flag, ate dinner together and sang songs around the campfire with Dwight Beal leading us in song. I loved how as we sat around the campfire in the darkness, people kept thinking of more songs that we knew. We sat there for at least an hour praising God. We sang upbeat songs, slower songs, and some in between. I can’t wait to have another worship team retreat!
