chairs in the .....what?

So if you're wondering, our name comes from the Arno river in Florence, Italy, where jeff, jeff and ryan went to school in 2000-2001. I think we all take credit for the name of the band now (like its something to be proud of) but as a note on personal history, i personally think it was James Godard one of our good friends who originally came up with it. But i guess it will remain obscured because of the amount of box wine that we had consumed the night when we actually threw some plastic chairs into the river.

just to clear that up (or not)

We formed slowly over the next few years just tinkering around with casios and a 4-track recorder that i kinda borrow/stole from my friend Todd (sorry todd, i broke it). so ya ....the songs really sucked at first, and we eventually all moved into a house (lodi lane house) together in St. Helena, CA. We made jeff knight recruit becca hsu from the local college to round out our testosterone packed band. The fun and the friction that ensued and our enthusiasm for electro-pop, techno-pop, or whatever you wanna call it, formed our sound over the next three years. we probably threw away three albums worth of good songs just out of self loathing, but eventually decided to keep some and play shows to less than enthusiastic crowds around the bay area. Luckily we had friends like Megan from the greatness that is Megamoog, helping us find shows along the way. Well that is about it.
