Music is great, which is why I love it. Listening, playing, anything about it I'm estatic about. Sleep is a shame because it gets in the way of music. I play anything I can get my hands on if I don't have to provide air from my lungs (the best definition for now I suppose). Mostly, this ends in the failure of a novice, as can be understood I suppose. I can, though, play the vibraphone to a superior degree of the other instruments, and keys and strings in general bode well for playing with. I love to get together with some friends of mine and jam for hours as The Genial Disposition. We are not nearly prolific enough mostly because of the intensity of my laid back schedual, their incredibly hectic scheduals, and the non-meshing of the two. Its a shame because we can't get better without playing more, but we can have fun regardless, which is what music is about anyway.
Books are wonderful, I have made a hobby of Powelling, which is going to Powells books in Portland and enjoying ones-self. I like to write, but I can't read or share my own things. Putting it down is one thing, being able to faily critique it is another, so I assume it to be worthless trash untill told otherwise. I dig poetry, mostly Beat, but I also like Larkin as a poet. I love fiction, short fiction mostly, Kafka, Chekhov, Kerouac and the like, but political satire like Catch-22 and anything Kurt Vonnegut floats my boat like styrofoam if you know how I mean.
Photography is just phenominal, which is the reason I take pictures of things. I like black and white because it's so simple, because it is light and texture and color dosn't matter anymore, just content and composition. It's something we can't see now and it's just another way to see things. Like rose glasses make it always sunset and sunrise all at the same time, photography gives us fancy new eyes that can see more that our minds can know.
