Charly “the city mouse” Fasano is a poet and story teller from Denver, Colorado (NOW CHICAGO). His stories/poems are inspired by his experiences touring with rock and roll bands, failed relationships and being lost in familiar places. He has made his mark in Colorado and abroad by reading his stories/poem at rock shows and any stage that will have him. “the city mouse” has opened up for the likes of The Queers, The Hard-ons, Lucero, Tim Barry (Avail), Mark Mallman, American Aquarium, Crime in Stereo, Drag the River, Cory Branan etc.
WHAT THE PRESS HAS SAID:
“Charly Fasano keeps some interesting company: Under his penname “the city mouse”, the Denver-based poet has brought his hard-bitten, punk-inspired verse to the masses through cleverly wrought audio-zines, spoken-word performances, and even a recent collaborative single with the mighty Lucero.” Jason Heller of the ONION
“ . . .punk inspired poetry drenched in equal parts whiskey and wry humor.” Brian Polk of the ONION
“ . . . City Mouse is a great storyteller. . . he comes across slightly like Mitch Hedburg in that he strings together short, mostly unrelated statements, although instead of relying only on humor he throws in a heavy dash of bitterness.” Ben Conoley of Punknews.org
