So, after my niece asked me to record their songs I decided to give Garageband a try and record a song for myself. I simply played it acoustic, created a new track, did an electric one, then second guitar in another track and one more track for a few 'fill ups' to give it a bit more depth. What I have learned is that Garageband is very fun to play with, very fast, smooth, and I love it how you can apply filters afterwards and play with the settings without having to re-record everything.

The song is without vocal, simply because I can't sing. I am glad I can already get a sound out of the guitar, so let's start with that hehe. The song is my version of the kill (bury me) from 30 seconds to mars Simply because I like that song. I don't know the chords, so I tried to figure it out myself. All I need now is a singer, drums, piano and bass hehe. Something else I learned: I suck at playing guitar, and my musical talent is missing. Timing and rhythm is obviously missing. But .. this is hobby, nothing commercial, so I can get away with it. It is also pretty difficult to keep going in the same flow, and not having any backup from drums or vocals. Listening to yourself and finding the 'problems' while playing is weird. It's also pretty hard to figure out how to best approach fixing those. Perhaps starting from scratch and asking my niece to play along with the drums will make it better for now, you just have to do with this version. And yes, I am only a little bit proud of it, but mostly ashamed.

As you can hear, it is not studio material, and I still have a lot to learn. But, I am motivated and simply do it because I like playing the guitar and I enjoy listening to music. I will stick to Garageband for now, but am considering to upgrade to Logic Pro 7 to expand my options.
