"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that
most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,
talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened
about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are
all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory
of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our
presence automatically liberates others." --Marianne Williamson
My name is Jordan. I grew up in Houston and moved to Austin in 96. A year later I became immersed in the Texas rave scene and began forming relationships with the majority of who I call my "family" today. Since then I've been attending events, fostering new friendships, and collaborating with my closest friends on intimate gatherings and kick ass adventures. It has not been without pain and suffering, for sure, but I am grateful for it has taught me about love, compassion, and spirituality. Through all my experiences I am constantly reminded that music and artistic expression are paramount to healthy living and connecting us to one another. You could say I am now addicted to these ideals. And I'm ok with that. :)
A few things about me: I am generally happy, fun, open minded, laid back, considerate, balanced, and dirtayyyy. I am a geek, weekend warrior, connoisseur of fine house music and other booty shakin jams, purveyor of good vibes, harbinger of good times... a child at heart.
I've been into capoeira since june '02 and can do some pretty wild stuff I never thought possible. Capoeira has really helped me to reconnect to the little kid inside me. I love music, dancing, and being with my friends: there is nothing like that moment of zen out on the dance floor, dancin in the dirt, or sand between my toes out on the beach, tearin it up, hands in the air, with all my friends smiling.
This moment is my church.
