Chris Burns - BIO
Chris Burns was born and raised in San Jose, California and always thought he would be an actor. However, he discovered his true love when he picked up the guitar at age 11. After falling deeply in love with the guitar Chris began writing music as well. Not soon after Chris began taking formal guitar lessons he picked up "The Beatles Greatest Hits For Guitar" and taught himself to play every song in the book. Over the last 15 years Chris has developed his song craft by playing in different bands, home recording himself and diving deep into the songwriting skills of artists like Ani DiFranco, Paul Simon and Keller Williams.
In early 2007 Chris left the band Moon Shine Blue to pursue a solo music career in the Orlando Area. He started by playing every 'open mike' that he could find. Armed with his acoustic guitar and a digital delay pedal he began widening his repertoire and developed his live looping technique. "I'm nowhere near guys like Keller Williams but I do enough to sound full in a loud bar setting." Mixing originals with a few carefully selected covers, Chris began to build a loyal following and started opening up for bands like The Fling and K-G and the Band in downtown Orlando.
Chris met Jason Gloria and Alex Eastman of Diatonic Productions soon after he started in Orlando. They hit it off and began recording what they thought would be a simple 6 song EP of acoustic guitar and vocal. What they ended up with was "CB RADIO", a six song "mini concept album". On this CD Chris plays acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, mouth flugel (made popular by Keller Williams) and performs the vocals with support from Alex Eastman on bass and Erik de la Cruz on percussion (both from The Fling). "CB RADIO" sounds like a full band project at points while keeping the intimate feel of a solo acoustic singer/songwriter.
In the next several months Chris intends to build on his initial success by following the release of "CB RADIO" with some live recordings and a full-length album already in the works that will include a video of the title track. "Right now I'm just focusing on playing in and around Orlando to get better known. After all, I just got here. The next step will be to play festivals and venues throughout Florida. Baby steps...baby steps..."

I love your sound. Very mellow. I would listen to it on a road trip when a comfy silence has fallen over the car. Or on the hour-long commute home from work after a crappy day. heh. And the muted trumpet (is that what it is?) on "bread" is great. Very nice, indeed.
