Chris has been involved in the development of the dance music industry in South Africa over the last 14 years. He's had a hand in mastering just about every dance compilation released in the country, from Perfecto, Kiss FM and Bump to some of the biggest House Afrika releases. Chris has also been producing his own music for the last 10 years, having had a top ten hit on SA's national radio station, 5FM, with Chromagene - "Atomique". He was nominated for a South African Music Award for the follow up single, "To the light". Chris DJ's at his MinTEX evening every Thursday, as well as Teknotribe (www.teknotribe.co.za) and tours the rest of the clubs in South Africa regularly. He's played alongside DJ's like Nick Warren, Lee Burridge, Slacker, Perc, Chris Liberator and Gary D, as well as South African DJ's like Dizzy, Nick Grater and Speedy. Chris has also toured Germany extensively, playing across the country from Frankfurt to Saarbruecken.
2005 saw Chris setting up his label, Layered Records, as well as doing remixes for various artists. Two of his chill-out tracks were picked up for release by David Gresham Records for an album called Cafe d' Afrique, and have since been released in South Africa, Canada and the United States. He released his label's first 2 tracks, Chris Palmer "Depth" and DJ Thubz "Empty", through Beatport in February 2005. The label has gone on to release many more tracks and enjoys sales all over the world. Listeners can tune in to his weekly show on Dance Web Radio (www.soundrepublic.co.za/webradio.asp) on Wednesdays.
