I do! My full name, for those of you who do not know is Christi Anna Malek. Obviously, Malek is from my dad it is Polish believe it or not and it means "Kingly" in arabic. Christi Anna was the girl name that my mom had picked out forever ago and I am the only girl, so I got blessed with it. It comes from my great-grandparents Christian and Anna. To be honest, I really like my name. There were times when I was younger when we would play the, "what name would you choose if you could change your name?" game. The popular name at the time that I remember choosing was Tiffany. Can you imagine if my name was Tiffany? I honestly was never that disgusted with my name and as the years have gone by the more I love every part of my name.

Tonight I saw the movie, "The Namesake" and it got me thinking on this subject. If you have chosen to see or not to see this movie becaus eof the previews, I encourage you to go and forget what you have seen before. This movie was full of rich Indian culture, family dynamics that anyone can relate to and, of course, love. Please do not be weary that one of the main characters is Kumar from Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. I would say that the movie more revolves around a family making its way in a new country and coulture and somehow managing to maintain some integrity of their homeland. I found the interpretation of the Indian customs and culture beautiful. But what it really showed me was to not take for granted where we have come from, know your history while constantly moving forward. I know, I can get so cheesy in these "reviews".
