These songs are old, often obscure, hymn texts set to new music. It has been said that hymns are "theology on fire." Hymns engage both our minds and our hearts. And these hymn writers were people just like us who struggled with doubt and fear. Yet, in the midst of these times, they were able to rest in the truth and beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
