About

Combat Recordings is a london-based label that releases fierce electronic dance music drawn from the unstable, creative space between genres, combining their strong points while cranking up the bass pressure to redline levels. Started by Stormfield, Combat was the natural result several things: a tight crew of DJs/producers who gigged together regularly; a growing pile of amazing demos that got rejected by various big labels for no good reason (we think!); and boredom of the current state of electronic music which lacked genuine soul, creativity, and bursts of all-out angry energy.

COMBAT01 was released in autumn 2004, a 4 track EP of hybrid electro / grime by ScanOne to great support from Andrew Weatherall, Keith Tenniswood, Si Begg and other key players in the underground electronic scene. This followed with several more releases including the soundsystem crushing 4 Guardians EP - 'track of the week' twice running on BBC Breezeblock 2005. Now into it's 13th release with more to come this year including artists like Scorn, it continues on it's war path to fuck knows where.
