Cora is an amatuer folk artist whose songs are lyrically based, intimate, and honest. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta and has dreams of performing her music in coffee shops and such. After taking a break from music for about four years to go back to school, Cora has been writing fresh songs for a CD she hopes to record this summer. She has also played a few gigs with her friend Myra Marshall from Camrose, and has been collaborating with other local Edmonton musicians. She is currently developing her performance skills by singing at as many open mics as possible in the Edmonton area.
A little history:
Cora grew up singing, making her first public appearance at the age of five. The song was "Away in A Manger", the setting - a children's Christmas concert. Cora 's love for music was encouraged by her parents at a young age - her mom played records and tapes constantly, and she used to sing rounds with her mom every single night before bed. Some of Cora's childhood musical experiences include: singing alto in a choir from the age of seven to twenty, competing in music festivals, taking voice lessons, performing at local community events by herself and with her friend Myra, leading church music, and spending long hours in her room listening to tapes and cd's over and over again.
She picked up the guitar at age thirteen and has been writing and singing her own songs ever since. Over the years, Cora has had the chance to perform her music in various settings across the country, including jails, soup kitchens, weddings, funerals, schools, churches, coffee shops, living rooms, and various other events.

set me down in a field of yellow flowers
let me soak in some sunlight
a white tiled entryway and i am cascading down
teal blue accents in the room
gingham curtains, tied back with yarn
my gramma called
said she has an old suitcase, maybe I want it
yes, old …
