Sorry, but this isn't Myspace. To add you as a friend you would have to be my friend. It annoys me if you added me only to promote your stuff. Virb doesn't work like that. If I like what you do, I will add you on my own.

Before you try adding me as a friend, consider this:

• If I don't know you and we have never talked, why would I want to be your friend? What ties make us friends?
• By adding me as your friend you are basically saying "I don't know you, but I want you to have a look at my t-shirts, or my band, or whatever I want to sell to you". Does that make me your friend?
• By adding someone as your friend who isn't really your friend, you force her/him to consider you everything else but your friend. You put yourself in a row with annoying spam and advertising messages. Do you really think that will help to promote your music or your stuff?
• Even if I like your t-shirts or would like to listen to your music, once you behave that way my opinion of you isn't very high

What can you do to make me your friend?

• Read my profile, spend some time with it and try to see what kind of person I am
• Send me a real message, not a blind friend request
• If you think my style matches with your music or stuff, you may ask me to check out your profile, so I can add you as my friend if I like (see that huge difference?)
• Compared to your old-school aggressive and annoying marketing attempts, this is what makes you personal and valuable to me
• It is a good foundation for friendship

I hope you understand now why I decliend your blind friend-request. Friendship takes more than the click of a button.
