Counters is an experimental electronic project founded by Meason Wiley (Dead Waiter). Using exclusively custom-built instruments created in NI's Reaktor, the goal of Counters is to find a balance between generative, algorithmic, + probability-based instruments and user interaction, allowing for an equal exchange between software, computer, and the musician. Besides allowing for adaptation in composition based on these rules, Counters also seeks to find ways of creating sounds that are both organic and highly visual, hoping to present a broad dynamic that is inherently humanistic, something not usually present in computer-based music.
