Exciting News

EXCITING NEWS!

Backstory:
As most of you know, I own a successful home improvement/repair business that I started over 5 years ago (it really didn't get successful until about 2 1/2 years ago). The handyman business is relatively simple to get started in but takes awhile to build a client & referral base. I now operate this business pretty much by referral only, I don't do typical advertising to get business.

Tina works full time as a stay at home mom and grandma and part time she and her mom own an "unmanned" booth at a local flea market. They buy products like clothing, toys, childrens items and some furniture at deep discounts and resell at their booth for a great markup. (Unmanned means they don't have to be there to watch the booth. They just have to keep it stocked. People pick items they want to buy at any of the booths and pay all at once at the front cashier.)

Since we're both self employed, we are consistently looking for ways to supplement our income in case of a slow month. We've done things like purchase items at auction and resold on ebay, garagesales and in the local marketplace. One time I created an info product and sold over 200 units on ebay for $39 each. However, these things are pretty inconsistent.

Here's the Exciting News:
So, About a year and a half ago we decided to look seriously for an additional business to start that could bring us a stable and consistent income that we could build on a part time basis. Six months ago we started researching the travel industry and found that this was a perfect match for us. We researched several companies to decide which one to affiliate ourselves with. So, several months ago Tina and I took the plunge with YTB Travel, Inc. Our official designation is RTA or Referring Travel Agent. We've waited to announce this for several reasons. One reason was that I wanted to create a travel blog website that shared travel research and information and travel tips. Our website links to our actual booking engine. But, the main reason was because we wanted to use the beginning of 2008 to formerly launch the business. This is truely the year of new beginnings!

So we want to let all our friends know that they can now book all their travel needs with us. Flights, car rentals, hotels, cruises, golf packages, etc. All you have to do is visit http://www.DestinationMonkey.com. (want to know why we choose the name destination monkey? Visit our site and click the "About" link.)

In case you're wondering, Yes, we offer the same airline tickets, hotels, cruises, resort condos, vacation packages and discounts as the other guys. By all means, compare our prices with other online travel companies like expedia, travelocity, orbitz, etc. If we are not comparable - DON'T USE US! However, if you find our pricing comparable or better than the other guys, book your travel with us. Be sure to check out our Great Travel Deals under $250.

BTW, we have a special section on our booking engine titled "Extras". There you can get tickets for attractions, sporting events & concerts, you can purchase new or used cars, purchase flowers, sign up for a honeymoon registry, book a massage, search for spas, etc. Be sure to check it out.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Have a great 2008!
