On Sunday I gigged at an outdoor pig roast @ Camp Omally. I just have to say right off the bat...I LOVE playing outside. There's something very free about open air music. We (my band and I) had to set up on this outdoor stage that is the size of a small welcome mat :) Ha...just kiddin. Not that small, but small. :) I was warning the guys that we have limited space to jump all over the stage like we normally do, again...just kidding. :) It was a wonderful afternoon of fun and music. I had such a great time with everyone. Later...of course I hurt my ankle playing beach volleyball with a bunch of peeps much younger than me. Crazy woman! But, none the less a wonderful time. I think a most memorable moment was right before they announced the PIG was ready, we were just goofin off musically and doin a little improv. My lead guitar player starter beat boxin' to the theme of "pig roast"...of which we all chimmed in with a groove to back him up. :) Very very funny. I must say. And yes...you will be entertained with a Youtube video to come.
I love meeting new people and making new friends and I was blessed with both on Sunday. My heart is always touched by those who truly find my music comforting and encouraging to them. Lifts me up and inspires me to press on in what I am pursuing. I also had this cool moment after all was said and done. I had met this young autistic boy earlier and he really LOVED my guitar and wanted to just play it a bit. So we sat at the stage a while with his mom and just jammed together on my guitar. It was so beautiful and his joy filled my heart with such thankfullness. I was blessed on Sunday @ Camp Omally...
