I have become a regular at the local farmers markets. I always meant to go before but it wasn't until after I came home from visiting my brother and his family in California and while out there made the trip to their local market with my SIL and niece. We got these salad greens that are so fresh and have these wonderful, complex flavors. I pretty much chalked it up to the fact that they are in California and have better access to fresh produce than those of us in the rest of the country.
But I knew we had some farmers markets and one not far from where I work so I started going on my lunch hour. I am hooked. My favorite finds thus far are sun gold tomatoes (orange cherry tomatoes that are incredibly sweet), blueberries that remind me of the ones we used to grow in the backyard of my parent's house back in Maine, plums, pattypan summer squash (wonderful just diced up and saut
