In my hometown of Salinas, CA, We have the National Steinbeck Center. Steinbeck grew up in Salinas. On a side note, he spent a great deal of time in the Ukraine. Well, there is a sign for a parking structure that has been misspelled for a very long time. Maybe it was the fact that a Ukrainian film crew was coming to town, or someone finally had a revelation, but either way they finally fixed the sign a week before I left town.
