BIOGRAPHY
"Dance music has almost always been totally about the music and the record. Superstars like Madonna and Donna Summer have been few and far between. Mike Furey and Tom Napack of Dangerous Muse could easily be another exception to the rule. Dangerous Muse have the songs, but they also have the style, looks and unswerving dedication and most of all, the smarts to break through in a big, big way and stay there for a long, long time. I'm betting they can and will do it."
-Seymour Stein, Sire Records
The Electro-Clash scene in New York City was undoubtedly one of the most creatively glamorous, deliciously lascivious and culturally influential pop music movements in recent years, but like most dance music, while ground breaking in its production, it may have lacked a certain emphasis on the art of songwriting.
Vocalist Mike Furey, a regular at the hottest downtown dance parties, wanted to use that dark, lusty, trashy dance sound hed absorbed there to write the more personal songs that were gestating in his sub-conscious. Programmer/keyboardist Tom Napack, new to the scene, was looking for a vocalist and songwriting partner. They got together and immediately knew they had something. Combining the gloomy sexiness of underground New York with a keen sense of song craft and pop drama, Dangerous Muses sound is as comfortable on the dance floor as it is the morning after.
New York performances at MisShapes, Scenic, Happy Valley and Crash Mansion began to spread the success of their first single The Rejection and Dangerous Muse was off and running. Soon they had Mr. Steins attention and found themselves working on their first commercial release with Ted Ottaviano (Book of Love).
In November 2005, Dangerous Muse released their first EP with Cordless Recordings, the newest addition to the Warner Music Group of labels. The day the EP was available, "The Rejection" soared to number 2 on iTunes top-selling dance charts and stayed at the top of the charts for weeks.
Dangerous Muse are currently working on writing and producing their next "cluster," (Digital EP), available May 2006. They'll also be releasing a CD EP (available in stores this July), featuring an Eric Kupper remix of "The Rejection" and some other special content.

Last night was insane night of debauchery at The Delancey in New York with our friends from Clear Static and a couple other bands. It was good to see everyone's "arms up" at home again. To open our set, we played a brand new track called "Your Boyfriend's Back," which will be featured on our next release, expected to drop on iTunes this Spring. More details on our next release and upcoming events soon.
We thought it would be more fair to let everyone have a chance to download "The Rejection" -- so we made it available on here as well. Now is everyone happy? (This offer will end on March 7th as well.)
Starting today, Dangerous Muse's "The Rejection" will be available on iTunes UK for free! Click here to download. (You must be a UK resident.) Yesterday night we played for the Cordless release party in Los Angeles. We were totally psyched to see some of our New York friends in the audience and to meet some of our die-hards who drove out to see us. Some of the other acts to perform were Aya Pearde, Maven, and Koishii & Hush. Mikel Korbic was there with a bunch of cameras getting some footage for our most recent video. More soon.

Last night we performed at Funky Budha Lounge for a party called "Mmm..." We went up there with our friend DJ Cat Hartwell from Fannypack. She is amazing. No more "grossin' people out with her cameltoe" because she started a new music project, Holy Hail. Check them out. Anyway, we had these amazing adjoining rooms with insane views of downtown Chicago. It was a good situation. After the show, we had the sickest party ever. Our rooms had jacuzzi's. What. This morning we picked up a few copies of TimeOut Chicago. We had no idea that they did a piece on us. Check it out: Timeout Chicago cover and clippings...s are not currently working>>
Last night we performed at Scenic for Spencer Product's great new party called "Hot Fucking Pink." A couple other bands played that night too. If you haven't been, you should check it out. Next stop Chicago. Come see us at Funky Buddha Lounge on Monday night!
Last night marked the official release of Cordless Recordings. Dangerous Muse, Nozzle and Breakup Breakdown (Cordless bands) performed throughout the night. The event was held at Crash Mansion, hosted by The Village Voice. More
