Darlings are more than just a garage band with no garage. They dig. The band is made up of four friends (Peter Rynsky, Matt Solomon, Maura Lynch and Joe Tirabassi) whose gutters crossed in college. Their debut LP, Yeah I Know, is a spit-polished document of the post-grad mindspiral: dressing down, making out and flirting with the idea of shaping up. They tunneled their way through miles of pop pay dirt, from Liverpool to Glasgow and on into Paul Westerberg's dank Minneapolis basement. Cowlick riffs for cowlick riff, it's a ramshackle ride that's uncomfortably comfortable. You've slouched during job interviews and surfed mean couch. But there's a chance you've never woken up aglow, be it in your drool or someone else's. Darlings glow, too.
