I've uploaded a ragtag selection of tunes that I've done over the year - and there is plenty more to come. Of special note is "All the Other Stars in the Sky" which is ancient but I love it. I recorded it in my very early days of computer mayhem and it shows in the production, which is not very subtle. It is also notable for being the first "cosmic epic" love song that I wrote - something of a signature style for me.
It also as my trademark harmonic twists...any budding transcribers out there can give it a go. There are a few guaranteed "uh oh where are these chords going?" moments. I find exploring new chordal avenues a very pleasant way to pass the time.
Also in this bunch is "Wounded Heart" a short ballad, with rather interesting chords once again. Heavy but hidden Messiaen influence in the chord movements as well as a strange retrograde section. This was one of my first vocal takes too, hence the rawness. I've never been comforable with my voice and it's taken me a long timt to realise how to use this to my advantage.
Lamplight Heavy is a surreal love song...poetic images float like confetti through the song, whilst the music lurches between heavy riffing and twanging acoustic phrases. This is again typical for me that serious issues go hand in hand with comic moments and throwaway absurdity.
Auto is a little acoustic number about obsession. Air is a futuristic pop song and fantasy.
Hope you enjoy the tunes...I'll provide some more notes soon.
