The countdown to the newest release of Ubuntu Linux began a few weeks ago when the release date for "Feisty Fawn" was announced. I've been using Ubuntu Linux for about a year now and it has made my transition from proprietary Operating Systems so easy and exciting. I really love the distribution and everybody involved in the community.
However I'm not one of those people that tries to convince everybody he knows to switch to Linux because "it's better" (in every sense of the word). I'm all for choice and this just happens to be mine. I switch between Windows and Linux regularly and like them both.
The newest version of Ubuntu seems to be the greatest yet which is just fantastic. It has addressed my main problems with the previous versions of Ubuntu - mainly the ability to get my wireless network set up. It's targeted at the average computer user which is what Linux should be about now. It shouldn't be about geeks that sit in dark basements and hack away every hour of the day that they aren't playing "Dungeons and Dragons", It should be about providing a fun and alternative solution for the computer world.
I applaud the work of Mark Shuttleworth and the Ubuntu community on what seems to be a very stable, powerful and exciting update to Ubuntu. Now I can't wait to see what's coming in October!!
