In the bold words of Michael Scott, would I rather be feared or loved? Um... Easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me. Basically, I'm told that I bring a lot of positive things to the table. Wisdom? Maybe. Passion? Sure. Tenacity? Okay. Dexterity? Of course.
But at the same time, I'm realistic. Can most twelve-year-olds play the guitar better than me? Definitely. Would an accapella group let me join in on their good times? Certainly not.
Regardless, I've decided to start sending out the vibe. God help me. And may God help us all.
PS - I've posted some demo tracks for all to enjoy. Keep in mind that "demo" means it ain't perfect, as there are quite a few bumps throughout. They are what they are. Also, I'm going to do my best to talk my wife into learning the triangle, so if I am successful in making that happen, look out for a bunch of triangle solos in the very near future. Fingers crossed.
PPS - In case you can't tell, there are more than five songs in that little media player. Just move the mouse over the tiny black arrows to navigate up and down. It's fun. You can even download any and all as MP3s, because I just plain live to give. Seriously. The gift that keeps on giving the whole year.
PPPS - As a kind of disclaimer, you should know that whenever you hear more than one voice on a given song, although it may sound like Meatloaf, the voice is actually mine. Yes, that's right, a virtual chorus of Dave. There are a number of things wrong with that, but, alas, it is what I have to work with these days, as I've pretty much been doing everything myself, with the exception of an exceptional violin piece from Kristin L. But I felt the need to truly warn you that some songs contain multiple me's. Please do not be frightened or alarmed or angry or confused. I meant no harm.
PPPPS - If you have any comments or feedback or inspiring thoughts, go for it. They are more than welcome, but keep 'em clean and above the equator. Also, although you might guess otherwise, I actually do not currently have a paid assistant, so, yes, it's actually me that administers this page of mystery. For realzies.

At some point recently, I realized that I have written quite a few songs over the past ten years or so. A lot of them are pretty forgettable or they just don't hold my interest any more. Some seem too explosive and controversial for our times. While some still take …

Earlier today I stumbled across some faded photos of a failed experiment from my final year of high school -- the band known only as SPANK. It began as the antithesis to the dozens of acappella groups that were taking over the school, for we wanted to bring danger back …

Well, well, well. Look what we have here. I just added a few songs to the mix that I had originally recorded way back in February as part of the 2007 RPM Challenge that I so boldly accepted. After finishing the recordings at the time, I could tell that some sounded …

Dave if we had all these tracks in college then i'm sure "the delta dave society "would have been comprised of more than 13 members. I think all saw SPANK back in 96' at the McCallie gym. It was an agressive mix of heavy guitar rifs and unpolished voices. Strain would of truly torn the band apart in the latter years, so it was a good thing it ended so early. anyhoot, it is good to see your creative juices pumping. I'm sure JR will be happy. Check out this website if your into LOST.http://lost-and-gone-forever.blogspot.com/ Have a good one. Joe

It's OK, Dave. I once wore girl cowboy boots..... (also not my fault...it was my older sister's friend)

Great music, truly...we've got a real eclectic group of musicians who are creating really interesting and compelling music, its a nice community...a little bit BladeRunner...a little bit seventies Britian...a magical time for us all who are contributing to this strange device...our relationships are a bit romantic, dont you think...we each communicate through the rhythmic beats of our music...and the occasional note...amazing...i am sometimes blown away at the times we live in....Good to hear your music....hope you had a chance to listen to our contribution....peace and much respect.
