I'm trying to transition from Myspace... it's not difficult in the sense that Virb is inadequate.. quite the contrary. It's difficult in the fact more people aren't jumping on board. But oh... they'll come around.
So, I made an impulse purchase the other day on ebay. I bought a Yamaha FG-110... not sure yet on the year.. between 68 and 74. Anyway, it isn't the red label either.
These guitars were (and still are) cheap and pretty cheaply made, but from a lot of the reviews I read they are "kind of" sought after... especially the FG-180 red labels. So, if it sucks I'll just cut my losses (or make some money) and lesson learned.
Elliott Smith played an FG-180 (not even a red label), he even recorded some with it... interesting for a pretty well known musician to use an apprx $200 guitar when he had access or money to buy something much more expensive.
The FG-110 is an 000 style. I think if it is even worth it I'll replace the nut and saddle with a bone nut and saddle... as plastic was the standard. I don't know if that will bring down it's value (it is all original), but I'm just looking for it to sound good.
Well, comment me bitches... make me want to stay here on Virb... help me to feel not so lonely. I gave up Xanga and I'm working on Myspace... although that may prove to be difficult to give up entirely.
Love,
Dave
