Greetings,
I am Derek Johnson and you guessed it, I play music. I am originally from the Chicago-Land area. That's what people from Northern Indiana say to make it easy on everyone. I am currently living in Redding,CA where I am attending school with my wife. I've played music for all my life. Its my passion. My music stretches across a few different sounds. The singer/songwriter format with an acoustic and strong vocals, the more experimental format with powerful dynamics, as well as the more piano based format with strong melodies. I like to grab a little bit of each and mix it around to see what comes out. I am continually producing more songs and projects to get my music out there. There is a freedom that music has the ability to carry and I want to be part of releasing that. I love powerful lyrics and powerful vocals. That is my main focus musically. Retreat!!
So I am leaving in about an hour to go to Chico,CA for my school retreat. It should be pretty fun. Our second year class will get to meet some of the new first years and it is at a YWAM base. There is hiking but I am not your typical hiker so I might pass on that. …
