As a little child I picked up themes from classical music from our tapeplayer at home. After some time my interest in electronic-music came. When I was 12 years old I record almost every song that had electronic sound.
Mixing records
Around 1993, after buying records I started with mixing. I arranged a live performance on a local stage to try some mixes, but I also would like to make music myself. One year later I bought an Amiga 1200 running a sequencer called ''Octamed'', one of the first sample based programs. Even though it was only an 8-bit machine, I enjoyed spending hours of recording and programming samples.
Discoveries
Around 1996 I discovered the productions of Kai Tracid, Ferry Corsten, Signum and Oliver Lieb. My style was evolving towards trance and techno. I played in several Dutch clubs like ''Het Burgerweeshuis" (Deventer) and "Hemkade" (Zaandam) and was recording tapes almost every week. I was more focussed on dj-ing and spend a lot of time behind the decks.
I had a successful collaboration with "Lola Tantzt", a Dutch techno-act who combined music with the movie ''Lola Rennt''. My latest gig was in Hong Kong, where I played in the club 'X-Party'.
Studio
Seven years ago I realised my ambition to make music was getting bigger, so I decided to spend more time in recording music. At first I worked on a PC running Propellerhead's Reason and used a Roland TR 707.
Before that time I already worked a lot with fellow musician 'Luftmeister'. We share the same meaning of what good music should sound like and know each other for a long time. Luftmeister, a bit older, is a musician with a history in synthesizer- and drum 'n' bass music. We still have our project 'Luftmeister & D-Frax'. Our tracks are released on our record label Helgoland records (2005).
