As 2009 closes, Dirigible Ego bids a fond farewell to our lead guitarist, Ryan Donnelly, who is leaving the group to pursue other musical ventures. While we're sad to lose his prodigious talents, if you've heard any of the things he's written in his own projects, you know he'll work magic, and we remain big big fans of him and his work. Pete, Eric, and Doug will be carrying on as a trio for the time being; even before Ryan's departure we had been rehearsing some new material amongst the three of us. Expect great things ... and just maybe a new song or two ... at our mid-January show at the Cantab. When Ryan lets us know how his next projects shape up, we'll let all of you know about them too.

DE On The Radio

Pete and Doug will be on air tomorrow night (Weds 11/18) on Tufts University radio's local music show "On the Town", playing demos and talking trash. If you're in the greater Medford metroplex, tune in to 91.5 FM between 9 and 11 pm EST; elsewhere, listen to streaming audio online at http://www.wfmo.org. And for Boston-area folks: the next show is the following night (Thurs 11/19) at the Cantab Lounge in Central Square. You can make it a full week of DE -- we sure will be!

A year ago this week was the band's first show with the present lineup. Happy birthday to us! Coming off some quality time in the studio and fun shows at the Lilypad (our first acoustic-y set!) and Jacques (or first show in a gay bar!). Now we're gearing up for a show at our old haunt, the Cantab, the week before Thanksgiving.

Dirigible Ego: two shows in one week!

DE has two shows coming up in August, four days apart! First, we'll be at the Midway Cafe in JP on Monday 8/17 with Jukebox Romantics and When Air Turns To Water (in their debut performance!). Then, that Friday (8/21) we'll be back at Dodge Street in Salem with Social Seed, The Liz Borden Band, and (in *their* live debut) Sans Nomenclature. Hope to see you at one show, or the other, or even both!
