BIOGRAPHY
Present within Montreal's music scene for over ten years, Maxime Morin, aka DJ Champion has been making waves, ever since the release of his first album "Chill'Em All" (Saboteur Musique), released in 2004, for which he won the Album of the year award in the electronic-techno music category at the 2005 ADISQ. This one of a kind musician has not only helped form numerous punk acts throughout the years, but has also performed as DJ Mad Max, before being joined by his band the G-Strings, composed of four guitarists, one bass player and an amazing vocalist.

"Chill'Em All" is a unique concoction of rockin' guitars, techno beats, incredible vocals and contagious melodies. An original yet accessible album that has brought Champion and his G-Strings to perform at several important local and international Festivals and events, such as the SXSW Festival (Austin), the Exclaim! Magazine cross Canada Tour, Les Transmusicales de Rennes, the Great Escape Festival (Brighton, UK), Le Paléo Festival (Switzerland), Les Nuits Botaniques (Brussels), the Montreal International Jazz Festival, The Virgin Festival (Toronto), the Ninth Annual Interactive Acheivement Awards (Las Vegas), and the Toronto Film Festival, just to name a few.

Félix Award winner for Show of the Year at l'ADISQ (2006), Socan Dance Music Prize winner for the song "No Heaven", Juno nominee for Best Dance Recording and also CASBY award nominee for Favourite new single (No Heaven), Champion has released a DVD of his spectacular live show to keep us grooving through the winter as we await the new album which is set for release in 2008!

Présent sur la scène montréalaise depuis les dix dernières années, Maxime Morin, aussi connu sous le nom de DJ Champion, n'arrête pas de faire tourner les têtes et danser les corps, depuis la sortie de son premier album "Chill'Em All" (Saboteur Musique-2004), pour lequel il a gagné le prix de l'album éléctro de l'année à l'ADISQ 2005. Ce musicien unique en son genre, a commencé sa carrière en fondant et en participant à plusieurs groupes punk, et s'est ensuite lancé comme DJ sous le nom de Mad Max. Finalement, il s'est réinventé en DJ Champion, entouré de quatre guitaristes, une bassiste et une chanteuse qui sont devenus ses G-Strings.

"Chill'Em All" est une concoction unique de guitares rock, de beats techno, de mélodies contagieuses et de voix envoûtantes. Un album original et accessible qui a amené Champion et Ses G-Strings à jouer dans de nombreux festivals et évènements importants, tel que le SXSW (Austin), la tournéee pan-canadienne de la revue Exclaim!, Les Transmusicales de Rennes, The Great Escape Festival (Brighton, UK), Le Paléo Festival (Suisse), Les Nuits Botaniques (Bruxelles), le Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, le Virgin Festival (Toronto), les Interactive Achievement Awards (Las Vegas), pour ne nommer que ceux-là.

Avec "Chill'Em All" (paru en France le 9 octobre, 2006), "The Remix Album" (novembre 2006), le prix Félix pour Spectacle de l'année à l'ADISQ (2006), le prix Socan Musique Danse pour la pièce "No Heaven", une nomination au CASBY Awards pour la même pièce et une nomination aux Junos Awards pour "Best Dance Recording", DJ Champion nous en met plein la vue avec un tout nouveau DVD live (automne 2007) pour nous tenir en suspens jusqu'à la sortie de son prochain album à paraître en 2008!
