Since early 2002, the raggamuffin voice of DJ Collage has been a rising sound within the global music community worldwide. His vocal performances have been featured on top releases by the Sofa Surfers, Stereotyp, Meat Beat Manifesto, Dehli2Dublin, Ghislain Poirier & others. And as a producer, he has remixed songs for Seattle based groups- IQU, Truckasaurus & Vienna's club/pop group- Blockwerk. With these collaborations, Collage has been able to fuse his dancehall vocal flavor with abstract dub, breakbeat, house & downtempo riddims and still nice up straight dancehall parties. He has also performed live extensively throughout the US, Canada & Europe. DJ Collage began his musical journey by chatting on reggae soundsystems and with live reggae bands throughout the Midwestern US and Canada in the early nineties. He then relocated to California and began work with selectors and bands around the Bay area. He also formed the "Masse-One Soundsystem" which featured him as the vocalist and 2 selectors (Bad Lt. & Bamboo) running the riddims. When the soundsystem dissolved, Collage took the Masse-One name and turned it into a record label and received favorable reviews for his first cassette only single "Worla' Destruction" released in 1996. But it wasn't until his 5 song ragga/hip-hop EP "Uptown/Downtown" was released in 2000, did he really attract the attention of the masses. Currently Collage is living in the Pacific Northwest and does many performances in the area. He runs a weekly reggae/dancehall nite in Seattle called Jam Jam w/ Zion's Gate Soundsystem and can also be found chatting the mic live & direct at many a Dubstep event alongside UK heavyweights such as Kode9, Hatcha & others. Currently he has also teamed up with experimental beat maker- Dutty Larry and is working on a new CD- "Marathon Man" which is a fusion of distorted, futuristic hip-hop, dancehall and dub flavored riddims complete with his unique toasting stylee riding on top of it all.
