Personal Domains

Register a Domain

To use the Virb domain masking feature you'll first need to register your own domain name. You can purchase these from a number of places like Namecheap, Godaddy, Network Solutions or one of the many top ranking domain registrars.

Next Steps

After you have acquired your domain name, you will need to use the tools provided by whomever has the authoritative nameservers for your domain to set up a CNAME record. You'll need to follow the registrar's instructions to create a CNAME record for your domain, pointing it to VIRB.COM. This will be a different process for each registrar.

Please note: you are NOT changing your domain's nameservers, only adding a CNAME record.

Next, go to the You › Extras page in your Hub, enter your custom domain (ex: yourdomain.com) or sub-domain (ex: blog.yourdomain.com) and click "SAVE DOMAIN".

In less than 24 hours, the new record should be pointing to your Virb profile using your custom domain. Now, instead of virb.com/yourlink/photos, all of your content will be yourdomain.com/photos and so on.
