About

Dokkemand is the alias of Marius Grøtterud Egenes, a Norwegian musician of destructive proportions. Also a member of underground mainstays Sirka Ragnar (How is Annie Records), Marius has been leaving laptops in stitches as Dokkemand since early 2005.

Walking the line between calculated restraint and frenzied, arcade-tronic attacks, Dokkemand's output reveals much about the importance of tension in composition. Broken-hip-hop beat collages accompanied by an orchestra of disheveled music boxes, somber, glitch-laden balladry, and minimal, warped ambience are all fair in this game.

Dokkemand's current output includes a remix of fellow Norwegian artist Kate Havnevik (Universal Records, Continentica Records), and he will be collaborating with Alison Shaw (Cranes) on a song for his forthcoming album, due out on Other Electricities in autumn 2008.
