About

.cut featuring Gibet is a two-man band featuring Albérick (.cut) on laptop and Gibet on guitar. Formed in 2003, this project is the result of the encounter between these two musicians during a semi-improvised gig in Lyon. Since then, they released a large number of cd-r under that name, including the very recommended Article Circle (Obsolete records, 2006) and The Meiose Radio Sessions E.P. (Altsphere Prod, 2007), mp3 albums and they also contributed to many compilations. Besides, .cut worked on the soundtrack of the animated short movie Sous le Microscope in 2008. At the moment, the band is divided between Lyon where Gibet lives, and Montreal, where .cut emigrated almost two years ago, a city where he adds up collaborations with the local scene.

Beyond the facts, .cut featuring Gibet is an experimental band, as much in their approach as in their music. Often compared to the post-rock movement due to the structure of the pieces, usually long and progressive, their music also recalls the industrial / noise scene by the use of electronic manipulations. Bringing up uncompromising themes such as war, fear or death, this music captivates; it's as if we were gazing angst in awe.

.cut is:
AlBéRiCk (laptop(s), guitar, toys, field recording)
Gibet (guitar)

Cheers! I think you'll the split a lot! The artwork is pretty "out there" for my taste, but I think our tracks go really well together. I played a show with chris on new years and he gave me my copies there. Let me know once you've had a listen.

Cheers,
PatrickA
