I have visited National Parks and have walked an ocean beach. I have hiked the Rocky Mountains and have lived in the heart of a city with millions of people and skyscrapers that are triumphs of modern man. But I've yet to see anything, anywhere as beautiful as a horizon uncluttered, a frosted fence line or a herd of cattle serenely grazing in fog. My soul is scattered along the dirt roads of the Midwest. As I drive these minimum maintenance paths of gravel, sand and dirt I am constantly finding bits of it caught in the corn stubble, nailed to the weathered barn wood, pooled under the rusted metal of last generation's tractors.
I am from rural America. I am fortunate enough to have direct access to life as few Americans know it- slow, dull and lacking in polish. Each time I lift a camera my hope is that I can convey to busy, shiny, exciting metropolitan America how much I appreciate what we have to ourselves out here.

I recently redesigned the Gallery for this site. Aside from the new layout, I added the ability for people to send my images as eCards. Fun, huh?
