Layers and layers of environmental and self-sampling,
Dual at Dawn is one of the more creative forces to come
out of North Carolina's experimental music scene and is
worthy of special notation. A one-man band, Dual at Dawn
doesn't just create music, but an atmosphere where
subtle complexities lend themselves to self-reflection
and an unidentifiable (or intangible) overwhelming emotion.
Dissonant notes, polyrhythms and a knack for
knowing when to say 'no' to the temptation of more,
Dual at Dawn does experimental without the usual pitfall of
overly-synthesized, abrasive noise. A musician's musician,
this man is capable of great compositional heights.
